A very quite Men's fashion week and very skinny Prada
Milan is one of my favourite cities, and I never miss the opportunity to swing by during Fashion Week, even if it’s Men’s. Well, there’s always Prada, and even though I don’t really do menswear styling, I am always excited to see what Signora and Raf have to say.
For next summer, they are looking for clarity—that is the word they used most when talking about the collection. It was obvious in the design of the set: all glass, with fluorescent light shining through the floorboards. The clothes were deceptively simple too, all centred around the idea of jeans, the most ubiquitous and uncomplicated piece of clothing, but done well.
Ironically, Signora Prada has admitted to never having worn them, not even when she was young (we all know the stories of wearing Yves Saint Laurent going to student protests), and somehow I believe her.

In other news, Milan was boiling hot, so the looks had to be managed in proportion to the amount of sweating they—and I—could withstand. Hence the minimal layering (I’m still admiring how Marta does her high-summer layering) and the occasional mini.
LOOKS

I’m loving the new Massimo Dutti Studio collection - dress with a beautiful back detail, a midi dress that is cool for layering, pleated bubble hem skirt, cool linen set - top and trousers, sheer striped shirt and a cute mesh bag. They have also launched sale, and there are some nice bits still available - a linen shirt, a striped polo, a linen shirt with bib detail, a crochet polo shirt and a chic linen vest.
Also, Rohe has some really cool pieces with a layered effect - a top, another top, tailored trousers and a skirt.
